July 1st, 1961 was the registration date of the newly founded company „Gebrüder Würschum OHG – Tools and apparatuses “in Esslingen, Germany. Gerhard Würschum was working during these years as a young engineer for Liebherr in Biberach. He helped develop the first stationary concrete batching  plants. A dosing system for “mixing oil” was needed, but not available on the market. That was the starting idea for the first product of the company. Originally the Würschum company was intended as a design and engineering office, but very soon the first machines were built.

Together with the brothers Martin and Hermann Würschum they started to manufacture the first “fine dosing machine” in the barn of their grandmother. Other early products were specialised manufacturing tools.

The first manufacturing plant with office facility were built. Now the product range could be extended and included special customized machines.

The company grew continuously and soon had 12 employees. With the increased product range, the need for a strategic decision arose, resulting in the sale of the special machine range. Hermann Würschum continued with the tool products in his own company. Now the focus could be back on the dosing machines for the concrete industry and the filling machines.

To reflect the new focus, the name changed to: “Würschum GmbH – Metering systems and filling machines“ with the owners and managing directors Martin and Gerhard Würschum. The number of employees was growing rapidly, so in 1982 a new production hall was added to accommodate the current 25 employees.

A completely new office building was added, so the top floor of the old hall could be also used for manufacturing as well. Now there was space for 35 employees and a further increase in revenue.

As early as 1990 the next generation Hubert and Volker Würschum joined the company. Hubert Würschum as an engineer was key in the development of new dosing system, one of them was the patented granular system. Volker Würschum introduced a modern PC based network in the company and also focused on expanding export sales, which quickly grew over 50% of total sales. A big part of the increase in export sales was the US sales office “Advanced Concrete Technology” founded in 1989. When Martin Würschum retired in 1996 and Gerhard Wüschum in 1999 the new generation of Hubert and Volker Wüschum was ready to take on the responsibility.

Würschum GmbH was certified according to ISO 9001.

In the two product ranges metering systems and filling machines over 120.000 individually counted machines were built until mid 2011. July 1st , 2011 Würschum company celebrates its 50 year anniversary.

The new production facility with over 500 m² was built. The land property is over 3000 m² and can be used for further expansion in the future.

Volker Würschum leaves the company.

On July 1st, 2021, exactly 60 years after the company was founded, Hubert's son Tim Würschum joins the management team.

The new company building has been completed. Production and offices finally moved to Senefelderstraße 18/1 in Ostfildern.
